Plimoth Plantation Wampanoag Homesite

Wampanoag women are preparing food in this photo. They are cooking a fish over a fire. Crabs are in a black, wood bowl behind them. These women are actors, and they work at Plimouth Plantation in Plymouth, Massachusetts. They show the life of 1627 in the United States. The Wampanoag and the Pilgrims were neighbors. The Wampanoag showed the Pilgrims how to live in the New World. The Wampanoag were guests of the Pilgrims at the first Thanksgiving in 1621. The meat at the first Thanksgiving was cooked over an open fire like this.
