InternationalMissing frogs?

November 1, 2016

10,000 frogs are dead. People found their bodies on the Coata River in Peru. What happened to the frogs? Government officials are looking for the answer.
The dead frogs are Titicaca water frogs. This kind of frog has a lot of extra skin. The extra skin holds oxygen, so these frogs can breathe underwater. They only live in the fresh water of this area of Peru and Bolivia.
“Polluted water may be the cause of the deaths,“ some experts say. Over the past twenty years, many people have moved here, and the number of frogs has gone down by 80%. They are now an endangered species.
