InternationalBaby Pablo

March 1, 2016

Only 84 people lived in the small Northern Italian town of Ostana. Then on January 22, 2016, a dream came true. Little Pablo was born. Now 85 people live in Ostana. This is good news because the last baby born in Ostana was in 1988.

Ostana, like other small towns in Italy, is dying. Young Italians want good jobs in big cities. They move away and leave the older people behind.

But the mayor of Ostana is finding job opportunities for young people. Pablo’s parents like their job at a mountain refuge. The mayor says, “Let’s have a party. Pablo is the beginning of more children for Ostana.”
